It was a spooky affair at the Iron Soul Gym as the members of the gym dressed in costumes to raise money for the Military Order of the Purple Hearts, New Mexico Chapter. The gym members competed for the best deadlift of the day, some dressed as Pokemon, Richard Simmons, and Spongebob. They raised about $1400 for Eric Solano who had served in the U.S. Army and passed away recently leaving behind a wife and daughter. I was very excited for my husband, who placed second in the Lightweight Deadlifting Division. Congratulations to all the winners kind enough to contribute to such a worthy cause. Iron Soul Gym is already planning for their next “Day of the Deadlift” next year.
